For centuries humans ruled the Earth, threatening to exterminate those different from themselves. The "monsters" from human myth were forced to live in hiding among them. Though these races were powerful apart, alone they could not overthrow the humans that vastly outnumbered them.

Then the time came when they would submit no more. No more hiding what they were, no more human rule. The major species groups united under the weretiger Alexander Rembrandt. Together they concocted a plot to use the humans’ own technology against them. For decades the leaders of each group infiltrated the world’s top technology corporations. When CEO Steve Jobs of Apple died, it was time to strike. Alexander Rembrandt emerged as the new head of Apple. At first, nobody suspected anything covert until mysteriously other CEOs and top businessmen were assassinated. Slowly Rembrandt began buying up these “lost” companies and merging the rest. Suddenly the world was faced with its first super company: Dusk Technologies. The board members were comprised of representatives from each group. In the beginning, The Company appeared to work in favor of the humans. They established technology to benefit the earth’s population. Eventually their real mission became clear and with control over the world’s technology, it was easy to enslave the humans.

Several decades passed before the slave trade became a profitable industry for the rich to become richer and the powerful to achieve even more control. The Company manufactured new laws which condemned to slavery those who could not pay their debt to Dusk Tech. This greatly increased the unstoppable enterprise and widened the slave variety to species beyond simple humans.

The year is 2229, two hundred years after the initial attack on human civilization. Country borders have dissolved as we know it along with human governments and establishments. Beyond Dusk Tech's security force there is no official peace keeping body. Any creature who is condemned, sold or born into slavery is trapped; forced to succumb to those who own him. A chip is implanted under the skin of every slave. If the chip is removed, it leaves a permanent scar on the neck. The nickname “Scarneck” is a term which rose to describe the escaped slave. Removal of the chip is forbidden and punishable by death if the owner cannot be found and/or refuses to pay the fine.

There is a rebellion growing to support the downfall of the Company and the end of slavery. It is small but building at an alarming rate. The current Security Board Member of Dusk Tech is the cruel Viktor Rembrandt (the descendent of the original leader Alexander Rembrandt). Viktor will stop at nothing to crush the rebellion and bring all resistance to an end once and for all.

October 5, 2011 - Steve Jobs dies

September 23, 2012 - Alexander Rembrandt takes over Apple and renames it "Dusk Technologies"

December 29, 2012 - Board officially run by member of each of the five major species groups, a fact unknown to humans

June 3, 2025 - Dusk Tech becomes the only major technology manufacturer in the world

January 1, 2029 - The species "out" themselves as nonhuman, and Dusk Tech enslaves the human population

April 17, 2037 - Alexander Rembrandt dies, leaving the board in charge of the Company

March 30, 2101 - The Company enacts new slave laws which condemn to slavery those who cannot repay their debt to Dusk Tech

Spring 2220 - The first small uprising of rebels

September 13, 2225 - Current Security Board Member of Dusk Tech, Viktor Rembrandt, urges the public not to support or distribute any information against the Company. "To Act against Dusk Tech is to act against progress." Suspected rebels are forced into slavery or simply disappear
