Chips[/u]
The key to slavery is in the chips. Tiny microelectronic chips designed and created by Dusk Tech are embedded in the skin of the slave's neck and loaded with a slave's life story. Name, species, slave number, birth date, prior masters, a slave's entire history is logged in this chips, and the chips are controlled by Dusk Tech's "Being Management App," a smartphone application that is a must for slave ownership. Through this app, purchased of course through Dusk Tech's online store, each slave is registered with a number and password protected code that grants access to not only this history, but to the slaves themselves. The chips are also pinpoint-accuracy GPS tracking devices and the core of slave discipline and escapee recovery. With the tap of a touchscreen button a powerful, paralytic shock not unlike a taser can be delivered to the slave's entire neuro-muscular system, rendering slaves immobile and in agony for any length of time as determined by master. If the chip is removed, the chemical acid leaves a permanent scar on the neck.
Passwords and Encryption[/b]
If the chip is key to the slave, passwords are the key to ownership. All communications between the smartDevice and the slave's chip are heavily encrypted, and slave owners sell not only the slave's body, but the password to their chip as well. Hacking these chips and cracking Dusk Tech's encryption is one of the major goals of the rebellion. To lose or forget a password is to risk losing one's slave, and it is no easy task to recover or reset a slave's password.
Smart Phones[/b]
The key to resource management is the smart phone. Much closer to a microcomputer than a cell phone nowadays, masters manage their entire lives by the devices, not only checking up on companies and slaves, but managing them directly via Dusk Tech's nearly infinite range of applications.
