Wereanimal

Wereanimals are creatures of unknown origin who have the ability to shift from human to a specific animal form. The shift can be both compulsive or voluntary. The animal type possibilities are endless although typically they are large mammals. Usually they only associate with their own respective animal type and intermingling is rare. On the full moon, all wereanimals regardless of animal type are forced into their animal form when the moon rises. Strong feelings, such as anger or stress, can also trigger the shift, especially if the wereanimal is young and inexperienced. Wereanimals remain lucid when in animal form but it is harder to control their animals desires and instincts.

Human food is the normal diet except on the full moon when hunting livestock/animals is typical

Human lifespan

Increased strength, speed and agility. The ability to shift into an animal form and to heal from all wounds not inflicted by silver

All wereanimals are allergic to silver. The touch of silver acts as a skin irritant and can be fatal when ingested

The human form looks like a normal human and the animal form also looks like the typical animal of that species.

Extreme silver poisoning or bloodloss from wounds inflicted by silver; decapitation

Wereanimals are born and the gene is inherited by the parents. Hybridization with humans is possible. However, it is a recessive gene so it is possible for the offspring to not inherit the trait and become human. Humans and wereanimals with human DNA are considered to be of lower class than full-blooded wereanimals.
